American Legion Hosts
Veteran Benefits Fair
The Palatine American Legion Post 690 is hosting a VA benefits fair open house from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 25th upstairs in their banquet hall at the American Legion 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to discuss the various benefit programs of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“If you are an honorably discharged vet or the spouse, widow, widower or a relative of someone who has served, you will learn about a wide range of VA benefits and discounts at our open house,” said Andrew Alquist, project coordinator. “We will have sandwiches, snacks and refreshments available. Come by and learn about the benefits that are available to you as well as meet some other veterans.”
Ray Tomzak, an accredited representative for the American Legion, will be present to discuss and answer questions regarding VA benefits. Other professionals will be available to answers your questions about service-connected compensation, agent orange, VA home loans, VA hospital eligibility, burial benefits, survivors’ benefits, educational benefits and VA pension benefits.
“We are always looking for new members for the American Legion,” said Daphne Matthews, Legion Commander. “If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country then the Legion is the organization for you. The American Legion Family consists of the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) and Legion Auxiliary.
