Enhancement of the Veteran’s Memorial

Towne Square, Downtown Palatine, IL

The Palatine Veteran’s Memorial was constructed to preserve the names of those soldiers that have fought and died for the United States of American since the Civil War.  This is the only location in Palatine Township that individually lists the names of the soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty; their life.  The names of the fallen soldiers, listed according to war served, further punctuates the significance of the memorial.  The memorial is a place to reflect on the names of our local military heroes and the sacrifice they have made to further the quality of life we enjoy today.

The current memorial is a quiet tribute to the men and women that have paid the ultimate price during their service in the United States Military.  Our goal is to expand the existing site from 4 x 6 feet to 15 X 30 feet.  This expansion within the Towne Square park will allow the addition of educational features, reflection and resting spots as well as a bolder tribute to the legacy left behind by the soldiers. {click here for photos of the current memorial}

The goal of the Palatine Veteran’s Memorial Committee is to raise funds to reach our vision.  The addition of statues, benches, educational plaques and the re-mounting of the names is expected to exceed $75,000 and we hope you can help with the memorial enhancement and in turn keep the conversation alive for generations to come.
